Waking The Misery is a french Metal band created in 2014 in Essonne, near Paris. In the
beginning, the band used to play metalcore. In 5 years, the band has different line up and
record 3 singles, 1 EP, 1 album, 2 music videos and play over 20 stages. In 2019, another
line up turned the band’s influences towards more groovy sounds, creating a very particular
neo sound metal and recorded the demo ‘Eat This’ composed by 3 titles which will make the
split with the metalcore universe. Since August 2021, with the arrival of a new bassist and a
new frontman, the team is finally stable and now gathers members from Essonne (91), Seine
Et Marne (77), Yvelines ( 78) and Loiret (45). Each one brings their own influences (from
Slipknot to Linkin Park via different styles such as L’esprit du clan or Lofofora) as well as a
new technicality and an unprecedented musical base for the group. This mixture gave birth to
a unique music style today. WAKING THE MISERY HAS REBORN.
In September 2021, the new line up of Waking The Misery starts a new chapter in its history with the opening of the
Mennecy Metal Fest (France) and sets new objectives. In 2022, the group focuses on the
preparation of the album Phoenix planned for the next year. In 2023, Waking The Misery
comes out of the ashes to defend Phoenix. This year will also mark the beginning of a new
project which will only bring together featurings between Waking The Misery and other
artists.
