SHORT BIO:
Gert must have had MUSIC in his veins before he can remember but nevertheless first picked up the guitar when already 16 years old. Not seriously yet, but the unconditional love for the instrument was born!
Because everyone wanted to be a guitarist in the early 80’s his first real band effort was as a bass player for a local cover band. Gert really needed to hit that stage.… On the process he deeply felt the need to be to be a guitar player though….
A brand new Prog melodic project called AUGUST LIFE is born and late August 2018 the debut and concept album NEW ETERNITY sees the light of day. New Eternity is released on vinyl through NO DUST RECORDS early 2019. A Mini Album with a brand new killer song called THE BROKEN HOURGLASS and other really fantastic goodies is released in 2021 as appetizer for the successor of the debut album New Eternity which is expected in 2025.
A new Tribute band, a very special one, sees the light of day by the end of 2021… we are talking about a Savatage tribute band called SAVATAR. A long cherished wish for Gert…
As of June 2023 Gert plays in the legendary Dutch hard Rock band VENGEANCE to do shows in honor of the band’s 40th Anniversary.
