Søren Wind

Bio:

Søren Wind was born in Denmark on May 6, 1990. He began playing guitar at the age of 14, drawing inspiration from the solos of David Gilmour, Gary Moore, and Jimi Hendrix. Over time, his musical journey evolved from classic rock to metal, embracing complex time signatures and progressive rock. Porcupine Tree was his gateway to the prog world, but it was discovering Dream Theater that truly shaped his identity as a guitarist.

Although progressive rock and metal are his primary genres, Søren has explored a diverse range of styles throughout his career, including a stint as a death metal drummer. His belief in the unique qualities of every genre inspired him to form the indie pop group NORDVÆRK in 2018, where he crafted ethereal soundscapes. Although NORDVÆRK has since disbanded, Søren continues to draw on that creative phase in his compositions.

In 2022, as the world was emerging from the pandemic, Søren returned to the music scene after a brief hiatus. He was fortunate to join Advocacy, a band in search of a new guitarist, and quickly became an integral member. Over the past two years, Søren has performed extensively with Advocacy at festivals and venues across Denmark. The band’s debut album, The Path of Decoherence, released in 2024, has received stellar reviews and gained international acclaim.

Søren’s diverse playing styles and experiences have shaped his unique approach to guitar performance, and he appreciates the role of custom guitar picks in achieving his signature sound.
