Biography
Gabriel Voicu (born April 14, 1995, Romania) is a musician and composer, best known as the founder and guitarist of the rock band Cin5i.
He discovered his passion for music in 2009, when he started playing the guitar. After several years performing in regional bands, in 2016 he moved to Brașov, where he joined the band Coco. During this period, he toured across the country and had the opportunity to open for legendary acts such as Trooper, Iris, Compact, Cargo, Direcția 5, Omega, and Dire Straits Experience.
After parting ways with Coco, Gabriel began writing his own music, shaping a distinctive style influenced by hard rock, metal, and classical music. This creative journey led to the foundation of Cin5i, together with vocalist Cătălin Andrei, later joined by Adi (drums), Robert (bass), and John (keyboards).
With Cin5i, Gabriel continued to share the stage with some of the most iconic bands in Romania, opening for Iris, Compact, Cargo, Trooper, and performing at Danube Rock Revolution, the same festival where Uriah Heep also played (on a different day).
Cin5i quickly gained recognition for its powerful riffs, melodic lines, and straightforward, positive lyrics inspired by real life. The band became a favorite among motorcycle clubs in Romania, performing at festivals such as B-Zones (Buzău), Seawolves (Tulcea & Constanța), Happy Street Brotherhood (Câmpina), Danube Rock Revolution (Galați), as well as major events like Open Air Blues Festival Brezoi (BIAF), Drăgaica Festival, and BarockFest (Petroșani). Beyond Romania, the band has also performed in Bulgaria, playing shows in various pubs and connecting with international audiences.
In 2023, the band released its debut album, “Manifest”, further establishing its musical identity and reputation for delivering energetic and memorable live performances.
Today, Gabriel Voicu and Cin5i continue to grow their presence in the Romanian rock scene, with new music, concerts, and international collaborations on the horizon.
