Bio:
My name is Andy Dragomir and I’m the bass player in Doomsday Astronaut (instrumental progressive metal) and Wildchild (progressive rock).
I started collaborating with both bands about a year and a half ago, and things are already looking good for us. In this relatively short period of time (especially for Doomsday Astronaut starting in February 2022), we’ve had the opportunity to play a huge amount of gigs all around Romania.
Among the festivals we have attended are some of the most famous in Romania, such as Metalhead Meeting 2023 (with headliners Pantera, Leprous, and Ville Valo), Posada Festival 2022/2023 (Soen, Paradise Lost, The Haunted, and Persefone), Soundart Festival (Sunata, Mother of Millions), Astra Rock Festival (Ugly Kid Joe as headliner), Summer Camp Brezoi 2022 and Focus Festival 2022/2023 (with the best-known local artists).
In 2022, we won the grand prize with the band Doomsday Astronaut at the most famous national rock/metal band competition at the Posada Rock Festival. In 2023, we qualified for the finals of Posada Rock with the band Wildchild after a selection from over 50 national and international bands. Wildchild is also the winner of GBOB semifinal and the winner of Deer Music 3 Competition in 2020.
All these achievements have facilitated collaboration with many artists in the country and have also contributed to my popularity as a bass player locally.
My “weapon of choice” in concerts and on the upcoming national tour with Doomsday Astronaut is my Dingwall NG3 Pink Swirl. This model has attracted a lot of eyeballs since I purchased it. That’s why I want the unique and vibrant pattern I have on my bass guitar to be transposed to my bass picks.
